My Story

Sandra started dancing at the age of 6 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Later joined the prestigious dance club “Sukurys” (Whirlwind) headed by Jurate and Ceslovas Norvaisos (who at the time were the highest acclaimed choreographers in the former USSR) and was paired with Arturas Narbutas. Sandra, with Arturas, represented Lithuania in various competitions throughout Europe and the world as vice-champions of classic ballroom dancing.During that time she was also attending the Academy of Physical Education in Kaunas and working as a dancer and choreographer at “Vaiku Sokio in Mados Teatras” (Children’s Dance and Fashion Theatre).In 1999 Sandra received her bachelor's in Physical Education and Ballroom Dance Teacher from the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education. In 2000 Sandra moved to the U.S. with her dance partner Arturas.In 2001 her dance “Afrikiesiskas” (African) won first place in the Baltic Dance Competition.Sandra finished her second bachelor’s degree at Columbia College in Chicago in choreography in 2003. In 2005 founded a theatrical dance company “Artistic Dance Theatre” in Lemont, IL. A year later the company changed its name to DanceDuo Studio and moved to Willowbrook, IL.
